Before Oak Bay created a Complete Streets approach it was the only Greater Victoria municipality without one. Not having a Complete Streets approach put the municiplity at a disadvantage when competing for provincial and federal funding.
With their new Complete Streets approach in place, Oak Bay is now eligible to apply for the estimated $53 million in federal and privincial grants needed for projects such as Oak Bay High School, the performing arts theatre, the Neighbourhood Learning Centre and the Bowker Creek Restoration.
